Curriculum

The Swiss International School of Qatar will deliver the International Baccalaureate Programme, and is currently pursuing authorization as an IB World School. Initially, in January,  we will deliver the Primary Programme for students aged 3 to 5, and will also offer the IB Primary and Middle Years (up to grade 8) Programmes for students up to 13 from September 2017. As a Swiss international school we are perfectly placed to offer the internationally recognised curriculum that was originally founded in Switzerland. The three International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes form a continuum of international education, and consist of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). Central to all the three IB Programmes is the development of internationally minded students who will go on to become global citizens. They prepare students for the intellectual challenges of further education, focusing on the development of the whole child, both in the classroom and the world outside. The IB Organisation’s defined mission, incorporated into the Swiss International School of Qatar's philosophy, is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

Extra-Curricular Activities

At the Swiss International School of Qatar, in line with the IB Organization’s aims and ethos, we ensure to develop the whole child both in and beyond the classroom. Extra-curricular activities will be offered during and after school within the following areas: academics, sports, performing arts, culture, music, crafts, language and general hobbies; we encourage all students to participate in the school clubs and activities, as it enables them to develop and share skills and take an active part in the SISQ school community. We will also be offering a broad range of educational excursions and trips as an important part of the overall curriculum.
