DESCRIPTION
Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha was inaugurated in October 2001, under the patronage of H.E. Meerasahib Mahroof, then Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar. The school is affiliated to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Qatar and runs as a non-profit organization. The Patron of the school is H.E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar. The school is governed by a Board of Trustees.
SSLSD is an approved educational institute by the Supreme Education Council of Qatar and is known as the Sri Lankan Community School. The school is also an Approved Exmination Centre by Edexcel International (UK) which grants students to sit for Edexcel IGCSE and GCE examinations.
At the beginning, the school was a nursery with 25 students and over the years it has vastly progressed.
SSLSD now offers education from Lower Reception to Advanced Level. The school follows the Edexcel Curriculum. Students in Year 2 & Year 6 sit for the Key Stage I & II (SAT) examinations administered by Edexcel U.K.
Montessori methods are used to enhance independent learning in Lower Reception classes as it invites children to engage in learning activities of their own individual choice, under the guidance and expertise of their teachers. Children in the Lower Reception learn through discovery, using materials to cultivate ideas and self-discipline.
SSLSD is blessed with well qualified and experienced teachers to train and guide the children. The school is very keen in collaborating education with the latest technologies. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive board and a computer connected to the Internet.
At Stafford, students are also encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities including sports and aesthetics. School believes that engaging in these activities will develop the personality of the students and broaden their thinking pattern.

Curriculum
SSLSD follows the London Edexcel Curriculum. Emphasis is given to activity based and project based learning. All these curricular and co-curricular activities direct towards the total development of the student's personality to suit the international community.
The assessment system includes both internal and external assessments. Students are assessed internally through monthly and semester examinations, continuous homework and class assessments while they are also externally assessed through Key Stage Examinations conducted by SAT and IGCSE and GCSE examinations conducted by Edexcel International. Admissions Procedure
With regards to the admissions, the information and application form could be obtained from the school admin office or click here to download.
1) Duly filled application form for the student along with relevant documents to be submitted to the Admissions officer who is accountable to the Administration Manager
2) Documents required for admission,

Copies of Passports, Resident Permits of parents and child.

Copies of QID of Parents.

Copy of Birth Certificate of child(English Translation)

2 recent Photographs of child.

Copy of Health Card and Immunization Card

Students joining from other schools in Qatar or any other Middle Eastern country should submit a leaving certificate authenticated by the Supreme Education Council of Qatar.
3) Every application received will be logged in a register and a number will be given for easy reference.
4) The following payments have to be made at the time of admission

Admission Fee QR 1000/- (this is a non-refundable one off fee for every new admission)

Special Fee QR 300/- (this is an annual one off fee for every child attending the school, to cover the cost of handouts, printed materials and special events, payable at the beginning of every academic year)

Term school fee (This will vary depending on the class)
5) Applications for admission will be accepted from 1st to 31st March, of the academic year.
6) If there is no vacant seat in that particular grade, then the student will be placed on the waiting list until a place is available.
