DESCRIPTION

Qatar Academy Sidra is part of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, a private, chartered, non-profit organisation founded by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir.QA Sidra opened in September, 2012 under the name Qatar Academy Community School. The school initially accepted students from nursery (age 3 by September 1st) through grade 6 for the 2012-2013 academic year. Each year the school will add one academic grade level. Upon completion, the school will cater for early childhood (6 months) through grade 12.

Qatar Academy Sidra is a supportive community that engages and empowers all in the pursuit of learning through a student centered inquiry approach.
Our school was established five years ago and serves the educational needs of children who are dependents of employees of the Qatar Foundation. 

Our school slogan, Roots to Grow - Wings to Fly, comes from a quote by Henry Ward Beecher (1813 - 1887) "There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other, wings." 

It reminds us of the dual purposes of education: one, to pass on accumulated knowledge and wisdom of the past, the other to build capacity, encourage creativity and foster an open, inquisitive approach to learning for the future. 

We are currently an IB Diploma authorized school as well as a PYP (Primary Years Programme) and MYP (Middle Years Programme) candidate school. Our goal is to be fully authorized by January 2017. 

We intend to offer our students a world-class educational experience driven by research-based best practices and the IB model.

Admission
Welcome to Qatar Academy Sidra (QA Sidra). We are an international school situated in Education City, Doha and part of the family of Qatar Foundation schools. 

QA Sidra was established to serve the children of employees working at Qatar Foundation. We can only accept applicants who are dependents of Qatar Foundation.

The Admissions Office is responsible for coordinating all initial inquiries from families. We will respond all enquiries within 3 working days. Please follow the Application Procedures to begin the application process. 

Once all required documents have been submitted, the Admissions Office will confirm receipt of your completed application and forward it to the Admissions Committee. 

The Admissions Office acts as a conduit between the applicants and the Admissions Committee and will organise the necessary documentation that will guide their decisions. 

Once the file review process is completed, you will be informed if your child/children have been accepted. Once accepted, the school will contact you to provide further information, that will include fees, uniforms and prepare for the arrival of the student
