I would like to extend a warm welcome to the Students and Parents of The Phoenix Private School and hope you find our school website informative and useful. The school intends to establish a strong tradition of service to the Qatar community and this will be at the forefront of my leadership. We are here to provide a first class education for all our young people and to help them to achieve their potential; academically, socially, physically and morally. Our school philosophy is ‘Achieving Together' and this means supporting all pupils with our continued commitment to inclusion and high quality learning, teaching and pastoral care.

I am here to serve the school community, but also to challenge it in order to maintain high standards and improve on those areas where we are developing our practice. I want to ensure effective learning and teaching is happening for every pupil, every day, in every classroom and I will be working hard to ensure that is the reality at The Phoenix Private School.  I will not be doing this on my own. I work alongside my leadership team; Assistant Principal who manages the school on a day to day basis, a Facilities Coordinator with his maintenance staff, Student Services Co-ordinator who manages many functional areas, Key Stage Leaders who ensure each key stage is providing the best education possible, UK qualified teachers and experienced teaching assistants and finally administrative and support staff. We meet as the School’s Leadership Team to discuss, review and contribute to the school’s improvement priorities. In addition, the contribution of all teaching and non-teaching staff, the valued support of parents and families, and the continued efforts of our pupils will ensure that success is maintained and even improved wherever possible. Our PTA and Student Council have been a great partner in the school improvement.

I want the school community to trust in my ability to lead the school with openness and integrity and believe that we can 'achieve together' the best outcome for all our young people. We will do all we can to instil an ethos where pupils believe they can achieve their goals and aspirations. As part of the New National Curriculum we have adopted a Purist Method of Mastery in our Core subjects, which will make lessons more challenging, current and rewarding; we are proud to be one of the very few UK schools to adopt the new method in Qatar.
