The Cambridge School, Doha, provides an education based on The National Curriculum for England to students from Kindergarten to Year 9. The school prepares students for IGCSE, AS and A Level, following the Cambridge International Examinations Board. The school is managed by the Taleb Group. We strive to achieve and maintain high standards in education and pastoral care, focusing on the all round development of the students. The Cambridge School provides an excellent platform for students to develop leadership and interpersonal qualities through an active student leadership body. The students are actively encouraged to participate in all the activities that the school offers. We also prepare students to become world-class citizens in an ever changing world, by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to be active members of society. Admission Process
Registration & Admission
Nothing written will ever replace the reality of a visit. Please feel free to make an appointment to visit us during the school working days, and experience the vibrancy and excitement that exists in TCS. For registration, please contact the Registrar in person during working hours, which is from 8 A.M to 3 P.M. All forms required for registration are available from the school. The minimum permissible age for admission to Kindergarten is 3 years as on 1st September. There are no formal entrance tests for Kindergarten, however an interview with parents and students is required. Entrance tests are conducted from Year 1 to 10. In addition, an interview is also conducted.
School enrollment procedures.
Check whether there is a place and collect a pre-registration form from school. Complete the pre-registration form and take it to the Registration Offfice along with the supporting documents (photographs, passport and residence permit copies etc.)
The Registrar will check the application form and the availability of a place according to your child's age. Upon payment of non-refundable assessment fee, an assessment visit will be arranged. This will include a meeting with the Principal or Head of Section and an entrance test for children in Year 1 to 10. Results of interviews/ examinations will normally be given at the same day and if your child reaches the required standard he/she can be invited to join the school. If the place is accepted, you will be required to sign the declaration form and pay the non-refundable registration fee, first term tuition fee, textbook and uniform costs (and transport fee if applicable), together with a refundable cautionary deposit.
A spot in the school is not automatically approved should the School feel that it is unable to fully meet a child's educational and social needs or a student cannot fit into the ethos of the school.
Should parents decide to withdraw the child from school because the parents are leaving Qatar and not intending to return, the Term's fees will be forfeited, irrespective of the number of days your child has attended during the term.
Documents needed for Admission process.
1.Four recent passport size photographs of the student.
2.1 copy of child's passport with valid residence permit (This is a mandatory requirement from the State of Qatar Law. In the case of visa process, please forward copy of parent's Qatar Residence Permit together with child's temporary visa).
3.1 copy of both parents passports, residence permits and Qatar Identity Cards (Submit copy of both front and back of the ID).
4.A copy of Birth Certificate.
5.A copy of Immunization Record (Entry for KG up to Year 6 only).
6.A copy of the child's health card e.g. Hamad Hospital.
7.A copy of the last academic report.
8.A copy of the Transfer Certificate and School Recommendation Letter(Entry for Year 7 up to Year 13 only).
9.A copy of the IGCSE/AS/A Levels subject choices (for Y11 onward).
10.Blood Group Certificate.
Please note there is no automatic promotion of a student from Year 3 to Year 13.

The Cambridge School Doha follows the National Curriculum for England (Y1 - Y9)
The main subjects areas are:
Core Subjects
Core subjects include English, Mathematics, Science and Information and Communication Technology.
Foundation Subjects
Foundation subjects include History, Geography, Art, Music, Physical Education and French.
Additional Subjects
Arabic, Islamic Studies,Qatar History.
The Cambridge School offers IGCSE in Year 10 and 11 followed by the AS and A level programme in Year 12 and 13
English
Students will learn to expand their vocabulary and to communicate both verbally and in writing with confidence. Reading and writing fluency, comprehension and accuracy will be taught through a programme that instils the love and appreciation for the joy of reading and writing. Critical analysis and debate will form an integral part of the English curriculum. Additional support and individualised attention will be provided to help all students attain high standards and competency in English.
Mathematics
Students will learn the value of numbers and number place and will develop competency in methods of computation. They will be taught the properties of shapes and measurements and will learn how to reason, sort, classify, handle data and develop mathematical strategies to solve problems. The mathematics strands in Key Stage 3 (ages 11 to 14) build on the achievements and experience of Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11) as well as improving the transition from Primary to Secondary School. For example, students will solve substantial problems by breaking them into simpler tasks; they will use logical arguments to establish the truth of a statement and examine critically the results of statistical enquiry.
Science
Students will learn how to use and apply experimental and investigate approaches through planning, observing, recording and evaluating. They will develop their academic vocabulary, learn how to present scientific information, learn about life processes and living things and learn about the physical processes and properties of material things.
Information and Communication Technology
Students will learn how to use information technology equipment and software and its various applications to enhance both their learning process and as a research resource. Through ICT students will also learn how to gather, sort, organise and present data and information.
Geography and History
Students will investigate the physical and human features of the world and will gain an understanding of the past and its relationship to the present. They will learn methods of research and investigation and engage in practical activities that are subject related. They will also learn a variety of skills including map work, fieldwork, organisation of facts and information in chronological order and geographical terminology.
Second Languages
Students will study Arabic and English. They will learn to speak and communicate effectively in the language, expanding their vocabulary and learn to read and write.
Art
Students will learn a variety of techniques that are involved in art and design. By becoming involved in the creative process they will gain an understanding and appreciation for creative expression and technique.
Music
Students' enjoyment and understanding of music will be developed through activities that combine listening, performing and composing.
Physical Education
Students will be taught the importance of exercise for both their physical and mental well-being. They will learn about ways to maintain good health and will develop a range of skills and techniques and participate in a variety of sporting activities that encourage teamwork.
