In October 2008 the German International School Doha has been established as a recognized German overseas School and is located in the Al Maamoura area in Doha. We are supported and supervised by the German Ministers of Culture (KMK) and the Central Federal Agency for German Schools in Foreign Countries (Zentralstelle für das Auslandschulwesen).

Moreover the GIS Doha is part of a worldwide network of 140 German Schools abroad.

The GIS Doha offers German-speaking children, and those who want to become German speaking, starting from Kindergarten, a schooling program based on the curriculum of the federal state of Thuringia, adapted to the requirements of the Supreme Education Council.

The school consists of a Kindergarten, a Primary School (grades 1 – 4) and Secondary School up to Grade 10.  At the moment we have more than 300 students from different nationalities. Our aim is to connect cultures and to create and strengthen friendships.

Suitable to the requirements of a modern society, the GIS Doha is generally a modified all-day school. While the mandatory lessons are taking place mostly in the morning, the students have a wide choice participating in one of the various afternoon offers.

The German International School Doha provides students with the skills needed to communicate internationally through instructions in foreign language and cultural competences.

Inquiring School

The German International School Doha aims to support the intellectual curiosity and natural inquisitiveness of its students. The methods of teaching and learning shall promote self-reliance and self-responsibility.

Caring School

The German International School Doha will work to support the formation of social skills and the consciousness for social justice and the environment in general.
